Ocean Math Centers Round #2

We continued our ocean unit again this week. Here are our math centers.

Seashell Subtraction
The kids put shells into the pail and then took them out. After that, they filled out their recording sheet.

Octopus Number Words
The octopus had number words on each arm. The kids had to glue that many "suckers" to the arm.

Fish Addition
The students put fish into each fish bowl and then added them together.

Ordering Shells by 5's
The students had to cut out seashells and put them in order from 5 to 75.

Rainforest Math Centers

Last week we learned about the rainforest. Here are our math centers.

Monkey Addition
The students fed the monkey's "bananas." They were actually craft foam that I cut on the Ellison press.

Blue Morpho Butterfly-
Yes, I know this isn't math but I had to fit this in and it's an easy independent activity. The kids covered the butterfly with blue tissue squares and I hung them on the window.

Macaw Subtraction-
The students used feathers (construction paper) on the Macaw.

Measuring Rainforest Trees-
The students used unifix cubes to measure trees and then they measured with paper clips.

Order Frogs by 5's-
The students cut out frogs that had numbers on them and then but them in order by 5's.

Coin Math Centers

Last week our math centers were all money.

Sorting Money
Students sort money by value. Click here to download Money Mat.

Money Subtraction
Students used pennies as manipulatives for subtraction.

Roll to 100

Roll and Graph Money
Students roll a dice that has different coins. They graph their roll until one gets to the top. I used coin stickers that I found at the teacher store to make the dice.

Valentines Math Centers

Here are our Valentine's math centers...

Heart addition
The students used some cute little hearts that I found in the Target dollar spot and added them on a work mat that I made with Ellison hearts.

Valentine Counting Book

Valentine Hearts by 10's

Conversation Heart Graph
We used candy hearts from last year that were hard as rocks. I don't think the students ate one single heart...I promised them they would get sick or maybe break their teeth :)

Weighing Hearts
Another Target Dollar spot find (man, I need to stay out of that place!). I filled up the plastic hearts with various weights. The students then had to balance the hearts with tiles.
