Meet The Teacher

The First Grade Parade is hosting a linky party so I thought I would join in! I am new to the blogging community and I am loving all of the great ideas that I have found.

Here is some info about me...

I have been teaching for 3.5 years. My first year I taught special needs preschool and then I graduated on to kindergarten. I taught half day kindergarten for 1 year and then our building transitioned to full day kindergarten. I am currently working on obtaining my masters in literacy. I am 1.5 classes away plus a research project. I hope to be done by December of this year.

I grew up in a small town in northwest Ohio. I have 3 sisters and 2 nieces and a nephew. After high school I went to college in Dayton, Ohio. Right after that I married my high school sweetheart, Ben. Here is a picture of us at my sisters wedding.

A year after we bought our house we adopted this cute pup...Sandy! She is the best dog ever!

Now for the Q & A

Now tell us one random thing about yourself:

I teach 5 year olds and I eat like a five year old! You will not get me to try veggies...except corn and green beans. I love pizza, chicken nuggets, and mac and cheese!  Everyone makes fun of me but what can I say, I'm a super duper picky eater!

Hi, just found your blog :)

We have a ton of things in common: both teach K, both getting/got masters in literacy, both went on our honeymoon to Hawaii hehe. Oh yeah, and my name is Kelly, but that might be your last name haha.

I just stumbled upon your blog and am so excited to see someone else who is as picky of an eater as me! I am also currently getting my Masters in Literacy, but you are a lot further along than I am! I hope you finish up in December as planned :)

I just stumbled across your blog via Pinterest and it's so funny how much we have in common. I'm currently a SAHM because I have two young boys, but used to teach 2nd grade (I sub at my son's preschool now). I am/was terrified of tornadoes too and have a major McDonald's DC addiction. I love all of your literacy station work and appreciate that you're sharing it here. Oh, and my husband and I adopted a yellow lab named Cooper right after we got married and secretly I want to be a professional organizer. :)
